Destiny was arguably the best moment-to-moment console shooter in 2014, and it still sits with a rarefied group of top-tier shooters in 2016. One thing that becomes clear when jumping into Rise of Iron is just how good the game plays. Past that, you then have to repeat a lot of slightly remixed content (see below) to get strong enough to gather a group of six and beat the game’s new endgame raid, which while maybe not as novel or intricate as past Raids, is still very satisfying coordinated co-operative content. It will take you about three hours to play through the main missions and maybe another two more to get the iconic Gjallarhorn rocket launcher that’s key to the expansion’s branding push.
